A community for authoring Blu-ray, 4K/UHD and more!

You might not have noticed that DSA supports Managed Copy (we added it in in version 1.4) because Managed Copy was not required for replicating your Blu-ray discs. However, on December 5, 2009 that all changed: Managed Copy is now required on every disc you replicate.

You might be wondering what I need to do now?

While this diagram does scribe how managed copy works it doesn't tell you what you need to do. This article Managed Copy Explained only explains what Manage Copy might provide. Then there is this video of Managed Copy being demonstrated
But again nothing about what you need to do.
So we've decided we should step in and clear things up with a simple step by step guide!
2. Determin what your Managed Copy Servers address is. If you don't want to maintain this or want to deal with it. We can help with our NB Managed Copy Solution
3. Purchase an ISAN number
4. Add your ISAN and Managed Copy Server address to your DSA Project! (Open your DSA project, click on Disc Information then click on the BDCMF Tab)
5. Format your disc for replication.
If you have any questions please contact our support team or ask them here!

Thanks for this and the Wikipaper. It helped a lot. This whole Managed Copy thing is a nightmare, and is so far a lot of hoops for content owners to jump through for what so far appears to be vaporware. It's yet another frustration for the indie BD developer, and I hope those guys know they are not helping their nascent format.
