Replicating a Blu-ray disc is a bit different from replicating a DVD disc. One of the differences is the need for an AACS Stamper, another is that they use Metal Masters instead of Glass Masters. To understand all these differences we've worked with Eclipse Data Technologies
, they are the leader in optical disc premastering and mastering products for replicators and QC… Continue

I had a chance to try out the new DoStudio Encoder and I thought I'd share some of my initial first impressions with you regarding it. I'll start with some general summary and then come back to some more detail including some comparison to other encoders.
-------------- Summary ----------------
Plain and simple, NetBlender delivered on what they set out to accomplish. They've made a great encoder that's very easy to use, especially if you are familiar with… Continue

Although I've never played hockey (other than street hockey) and I am a terrible ice skater, one of my favorite sports metaphors is "skate where the puck is going." It's so true of great hockey players that they instinctively do this, and I also think you can tell a lot about companies by this measure - are they skating where the puck is going or where it has been?

One of the best sites for looking up Blu-ray player specifications has become http://www.blu-ray.com
. Recently they added a new search feature that lets you filter your search by more then 60 different parameters. Its not 100% accurate but it does a better job then any other site I've seen.

A hearty thank you to Randy Hudson at DuArt for hosting a terrific event yesterday for the NYC-based independent post production community. Thanks also to all the attendees!
This event launched the NetBlender/DuArt partnership, which is aimed at solving one of the hurdles for NY-based independent authoring houses to getting into Blu-ray - the cost and complexity of transferring tape or film-based assets into a compliant BD stream, ready to be authored.
DuArt has the decks,… Continue
