Great Workshop in Redondo Beach

Tony Cunha, Steve Johnson, and the entire crew at Duplitech put on a fantastic workshop for the LA post production community yesterday, July 14 at their Redondo Beach offices. The event, titled Getting into Blu-ray Authoring Affordably, was the first public showcase of the new DoStudio BD Workflow suite (DSW), with its integrated AVC encoder.

Finding the right Blu-ray Player

One of the best sites for looking up Blu-ray player specifications has become Recently they added a new search feature that lets you filter your search by more then 60 different parameters. Its not 100% accurate but it does a better job then any other site I've seen.

Food for thought from DuArt/NetBlender event yesterday in NYC

A hearty thank you to Randy Hudson at DuArt for hosting a terrific event yesterday for the NYC-based independent post production community. Thanks also to all the attendees!

This event launched the NetBlender/DuArt partnership, which is aimed at solving one of the hurdles for NY-based independent authoring houses to getting into Blu-ray - the cost and complexity of transferring tape or film-based assets into a compliant BD stream, ready to be authored.
