88.2 Khz Audio support for Blu-ray

The Sound Mixer wants to deliver 88.2 Khz 24bit audio for an upcoming project. I've worked with 96 & 192khz. However is 88.2khz supported for Blu-ray? I'm aware Naxos a company specializing in high res audio has some 88.2khz product out there. But I've come across other literature from a Sound Engineering book stating 88.2khz is not supported for Blu-ray. So I'm curious if there's a definite answer on this. Any thoughts on the issue would be helpful. Thank YouSee More
