Blu-ray + UHD/4K + Streaming

A community for authoring Blu-ray, 4K/UHD and more!

According to the help file:

  • DoStudio Authoring now uses a new installation and product registration process.

  • New support for adding second screen media files and web links to BD Touch.

  • A sound is now played when the compile process is complete.

That's what we all have been waiting for!

Have fun

On the same tab where we add the PS3 images,(disc info/control panel) there is an additional image link for BD Touch image, but clicking browse does not do anything. There is nothing in the help docs referring to this. What is it for?

Cheers

Tony

Just installed, activated, tried to open a project... and FAIL. None of my 2.6 projects will open in 3.0. It either crashes right away or throws an exception and then crashes...

Anyone else having the same problem? (all my projects are BD-J btw.). Considering the lackluster feature list, I'll stay clear of 3.0...

I will call this "Update" a joke...............

Sorry Sony,

- No Top Menu Button

- Resume function still marked as Beta

- no timeline view

etc. etc. etc.

There is nothing in this update which the users asked for.

Tony, same problem here.

Tobz: No problem to open old projects. This works fine for me. But why should i use

3.0?

Best regards

Gerd

hello everybody,

this is the complete changes list from the readme:

New features in version 3.0

  • DoStudio Authoring now uses a new installation and product registration process.
  • New support for adding second screen media files and web links to BD Touch.
  • A sound is now played when the compile process is complete.

Notable fixes/changes in version 3.0

  • Improved support for dragging primary audio and video files from Windows Explorer to segments in the Playlist window.
  • Improved warning and error boxes with more intuitive button options.
  • The Change Project Type button is no longer available if you do not have the EX module installed.
  • The subtitle cropping tool now supports all variations of the .dost file extension.
  • The scaling options for secondary video segments (picture-in-picture streams) are now compliant with the Blu-ray Disc specification and saved as expected.
  • Fixed a bug that caused error RESV0001 to appear in the verifier report.
  • Fixed a bug that caused error "Source CC File Hash Data Incorrect" to appear in the verifier report.
  • Fixed a bug that caused chapters to reset to 0 after multiplexing.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the project not saved asterisk to appear when the project has been saved.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented all files and folders from being included in a .zip file created from File > Export Project > Save to ZIP.

HOLY COW!

cheers from Switzerland

Well, on a positive note, there is an update to IGeditor directly from DVD-Logic that has some substantial improvements such as psd re-importing, menu animation wizzard, buffer size display of the graphics etc.

@Peter

Yes, IG Editor v2 is one of the best investments in upgrades for the last 2 years and it already payed its moneys worth.

DoStudio 3.0 first experience:

we are not able to open old projects, DoStudio crashes all the time. We have HDMV authored projects (no BD-J).

Is there a crash log somewhere? Didn't find any in the program directory.

cheers

Sandro

Is this IGEditor upgrade free for DoStudio EX users or is this something that needs to be purchased directly from DVDLogic?

The Sony guys will have to answer that. Not sure it will be free, and that's ok with me since it's not a small update. There is an upgrade path for users of the previous version with DVD-Logic and it's more than worthwile given the new features. Saves me hours of work and grief.

Hello all, The new version of the IG Editor 2.x from DVD Logic is not part of any release of DSA currently. Please contact DVD Logic directly for upgrade options and purchasing. DSA EX 3.0 will continue to come with IG Editor version 1.4 included

Thank you, Rob

@Rob

thank you for the new DoStudio version (3.0 build 59) we now are able to open existing projects without any problems or crashes.

@all

IG Editor v2 is 300.- USD and if you ever had to change a photoshop file because of a mistake or client's change request this version adds updating already imported photoshop files and all the programming remains untouched - very nice and made our workflow much painless.

cheers

Sandro

It's actually $700 unless you own v1.4 - that is a large chunk of change.....
